41st Anniversary of the GIMLI GLIDER LANDING – FUNDRAISING DINNER JULY 21, 2024
Ticket Sales ended July 17 at 2 PM..... Last summer our volunteer team had an unexpected introduction to the world community of passionate aviation collectors. This year’s GUEST SPEAKER DAVE HALL donated a small run of 250 MotoArt Plane tags crafted from the fuselage of the famous Gimli Glider commemorating the 40th Anniversary in support of our Exhibit.
Decommissioned and resting in the Mojave boneyard since it’s retirement from service after 25years, the Air Canada aircraft has been ‘parted out’ as significant artifacts within the Exhibit and tags sold to those who wish to own a piece of the plane.
Within just a few hours of a social media alert about the tag availability we were inundated with over a 100 orders world wide.
It seemed to be a small appreciation for what Hall did for the Exhibit as we asked MotoArt Plane Tag owner Dave Hall if he would be interested in coming for the annual dinner as our Guest Speaker and meet Capt. Pearson. We are looking forward to his experience within the large community of aviation collectors and his respect for the history.
The Event will be in Johnson Hall, on the top floor of the Waterfront Centre. Guests will see the beautiful view overlooking Lake Winnipeg. Tickets are limited and the Fundraising Dinner is usually a sell out. Ticket sales will end on July 15th.
Capt. Bob Pearson accompanied by Pearl Dion will also speak at the dinner. He will also be within the Exhibit to meet the public on OFFICIAL GIMLI GLIDER DAY JULY 23RD.
